What is Acupuncture?
Chinese medicine is an ancient and comprehensive medical practice that has been in use for over two thousand years. It is a system used to diagnose, treat, and prevent illness.
Acupuncture is one of the tools used in Chinese medicine where very fine needles are placed in specific points around the body that run in channels to encourage healing, relieve pain, and increase an over all sense of well being. Acupuncture treatments balance the yin and yang energy of the body. Acupuncture is a relatively painless procedure and by using single use and sterile needles the risk of injury or infection is quite small. Patients often report feeling movement in their body that they are unaccustomed to or an awareness of their body in a way they have never been before as the Qi or energy is shifting. Patients quite often leave feeling very relaxed and usually fall asleep during treatments.
